One thing I love investing in is learning about making my own superfoods rather than buying it.

Kefir is one of the many health tonics we make for our family.

So what is it?

It’s a fermented beverage made with “starting grains” and whole organic milk (this can also be made with other milks).

It’s similar to yoghurt however unlike yoghurt, yoghurt is made with heat, Kefir is made at room temperature which contributes to it being more nutritionally dense than most other probiotic supplements:

The benefits: (just a few that I like)

👉higher % of protein than yoghurt

👉higher % of probiotics than yoghurt

👉Contains a larger number of different types of healthy bacteria, this alone makes it more suitable for the gastrointestinal tract.

👉B vitamins, Potassium , Calcium

👉Tastes yummy

If you want to make Kefir. Really simple process.

🥛Get your hands on some starting grains (talk to me).

🥛Choose your milk


🥛Place in your pantry and let it ferment for the next 2 days.

Once ready, strain the mixture making sure you keep your grains and than place in the fridge.

Enjoy is as a shot or you can flavour with other super food combinations. I’ve just used cinnamon to sprinkle on top. (See the above picture).
