Hello, I’m Josh
I have completed my Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science at Southern Cross University, followed by my Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology through Charles Sturt University and now run my own Practice, Body in Motion Physiology.
My wife, Ashleigh and I have just relocated back to the Northern Rivers after 5 years of living and working in Brisbane. We are about to become first time parents and could not think of a better place to raise our family than where we grew up. We’re excited to being apart of this local community again AND collaborating with the Edge Fitness Alstonville community to help improve the health and well-being of clients through Exercise Physiology.
Prior to studying and working as an Exercise Physiologist, I competed as a professional triathlete, where I represented Australia at Elite World Championship level and was a New South Wales Institute of Sport athlete for several years.
What is Exercise Physiology?
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills to design and deliver safe and effective exercise intervention for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities, and for injury prevention and general well-being.
How can I help you?
An appointment with me will give you a chance to benefit from my knowledge and experience where I can guide you towards the appropriate exercises customised specifically to meet your needs.
Some common conditions where I can help:
– Musculoskeletal injuries
– Injury rehabilitation
– Sport or event specific training
– Chronic illness and disease – Obesity, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Cancer, Cardiac conditions
– Pre and post-operative

Can I get a referral?
Yes. The Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan is a government initiative that allows people with chronic injuries or ailments to access professional services to assist with the management of their condition with the benefits of a Medicare Rebate. This referral will need to be arranged with your GP. Your GP knows the criteria required to qualify for the CDM plan.
You are also welcome to organise an appointment without a referral. Exercise Physiology is recognised by major health funds and rebates may be available for your service.
